The Ministry of Information and Communication Infrastructure (MOICI) of The Gambia Government was created on 6th May 2002. The Ministry has the role of a policy maker, liberalisation of the ICT sector and with a requisite function to provide an enabling environment for ICT sector.
Currently, the Ministry is headed Hon. Alhaji A. Cham, who is
the Minister.
MOICI has a Technical Division, which is headed by the Deputy Permanent Secretary, Mr. Yankouba Toure.
Under this Division there are several sub units namely: Post, Media, Publications, Telecommunication, Information Technology, Regulatory, Technology, Science and Planning and Development.
Another division is the Administrative Division
which is headed by the Deputy Permanent
Secretary - Administration and Finance.
This division deals with
all administrative issues as well as finance
and policies.
